The original photo featured Moss holding a basketball in Garnett’s Minnesota Timberwolves jersey and Garnett holding a football in Moss’ Minnesota Vikings jersey. It debuted in an issue of Sports Illustrated Kids and captured that era of sports in the state.
Both players reached their respective Hall of Fames and played the majority of their careers in Minnesota. Neither was able to bring a championship to their franchise, which is something Edwards and Jefferson will look to change.
Jefferson has been with the Vikings since the 2020 season and has 5,899 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns for the franchise. Edwards debuted with the Timberwolves in the 2020-21 season and has averaged 22.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
Both men need more longevity to reach the iconic status on Garnett and Moss, but the early returns suggest they are on their way.
More importantly, Jefferson and Edwards have significant term remaining on their contracts, so a prolonged stay in Minnesota should be expected.
