Longtime “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie seemed to agree with Kelly Rowland that the dressing rooms at the NBC news program might need an upgrade.
“We need a remodel. We need ‘Extreme Makeover: Today Show Dressing Room Edition,’” Guthrie, 52, told “Entertainment Tonight” Wednesday while at the release party for her new book, “Mostly What God Does.”

“We are in a historic studio, 1A. It’s the same studio that has been used for decades,” Guthrie quipped. “It’s incredible and it’s iconic, but it’s old.”
“You get the good with the bad,” she continued. “If you want history, sometimes you’re gonna have a few little chips of paint coming off the wall.”
According to the news anchor: “[We] try to do our best.”
“Hopefully, the main thing is how people feel and the reception that they get,” she added. “A warm hug from all of us on the show, ’cause we’re really grateful for them coming.”
Guthrie’s comments come nearly a week after Rowland, 43, reportedly walked out on her co-hosting gig with Hoda Kotb after she complained that her dressing rooms “weren’t up to par.”
“Kelly and her team were not happy,” a source close to the incident told Page Six. “They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving Hoda without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour.”

The source said that the actress insisted on playing a game of “musical dressing rooms” before asking to be placed on another floor. However, it was already occupied by Jennifer Lopez.
According to the insider, the show offered Rowland several other options, including multiple talent dressing rooms and larger utility makeup and hair areas.
“They didn’t want that. [The show] basically offered up as much as possible, but they weren’t happy with it, so they walked and they left,” the insider said.
Despite the last-minute exit, singer-songwriter Rita Ora, who was already scheduled to appear on the show to promote the new season of “The Masked Singer,” managed to fill the role.
Following the incident, Kotb, 59, issued a statement that she still has “great love” for Rowland.

“I just want to say this –– I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her, and I want her to come back on our show, and I want her to host again,” Kotb said during Tuesday’s episode of “Today With Hoda and Jenna.”
Jenna Bush Hager, who was taking the day off when the incident occurred, replied that Rowland is “welcome anytime.”
She added: “She’s the best.”
“Of course she is, of course she is!” Kotb interjected. “She can share my dressing room, we’ll be in it together.”
“But anyway, I just want to say we love her, we’ve loved her on this show for many, many years.”
Kotb went on to tell ET that she has since been texting Rowland.

“I was bummed. I love Kelly. We love Kelly,” she said on Wednesday. “She’s one of our all-time faves, and there’s no one who’s more gracious or graceful than Kelly … we’ve been texting back and forth and I gave her a call. I said, ‘Come on, girl. We’re waiting. We’ll do a redo.’ So, hopefully we’ll do a redo.”
She added: “If you’ve ever been backstage [on] Broadway and gone to one of those dressing rooms, you’re like in these tiny rooms for months and months. That’s kind of what the ‘Today’ show is like. You walk around and it’s such a beautiful place, but there’s tiny little spaces.”
A rep for Rowland issued a statement following the matter too.
“After 28 years of knowing her, Kelly Rowland remains one of the kindest, most amiable humans I have ever met and have had the blessing to represent,” Yvette Noel-Schure told ET on Tuesday.
