Michigan was reportedly still flying in to Penn State when Jim Harbaugh’s suspension news dropped

by News7

The entire college football world learned the fate of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who will be suspended for the remainder of the regular season and barred from coaching on the sideline during games, on Friday afternoon.

Except for the Wolverines football team, that is.

According to a report from The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach, Michigan’s team was in the air traveling to Penn State for Saturday’s game when the news broke and had not received the news of Harbaugh’s suspension.

The suspension stems from the sign-stealing allegations against former Wolverines staffer Connor Stalions. As part of his suspension, Harbaugh will not be with the team during games — including a massive matchup against rival Ohio State on Nov. 25 — but will be permitted to coach during the week.

For now, all that’s certain is that Michigan was in for quite a surprise when it landed in Happy Valley.
