A woman has urged people not to “settle” in relationships after her boyfriend surprised her while she was out for dinner with friends in another state.
Abby Hunt, 25 and living in Nashville, Tennessee, met her partner Zach Huver on a dating app 10 months ago, and as she described it to Newsweek, “we clicked right away.”
Now almost a year into their relationship, Hunt took a trip to Charleston, South Carolina with friends to celebrate her birthday.

But though they were in different states, her partner still made sure he had a gift for her, as he called the restaurant and sent a drink to her table.

A friend captured the moment on a video that Hunt shared to her TikTok account @professionalicon on August 19.
It shows a staff member dropping a Cosmopolitan cocktail to their table, with Hunt bearing a shocked expression before covering her mouth with her hand, and joking, “I have no idea who it could be,” before adding, “That is so nice.”

In a caption over the video, she wrote: “POV you’re in another state on a girls trip and your boyfriend calls the restaurant to send you your favorite cocktail.”
And she added: “Don’t settle ladies!”
Hunt explained to Newsweek that her partner “texted my best friend to see where we were eating, called the restaurant, and had them send a Cosmopolitan to me,” adding he “paid over the phone because he knew it was my favorite drink.”

TikTok users were moved by what her boyfriend did, with the video boasting half a million likes in just a few days, and one commenting: “Wow, this type of thoughtfulness can not be taught.”
“I pray this kind of love finds me soon,” another said.
One joked: “The way I’d have wanted him to also get my girls a drink,” to which Hunt responded: “Lol next time.”
Hunt says there was something “special” about her relationship with Zach Huver from their very first date. The couple met on a dating app 10 months ago.

Hunt, who works in influencer marketing, says she “knew there was something special” between herself and her tech recruiter boyfriend after their first date.
“We truly never stopped talking once we started,” she said. “We go on a ton of fun dates, mainly to new restaurants around Nashville because we’re both big foodies.”
Now both living in Nashville, Hunt is originally from a small town in Washington while Huver is from northern Ohio.
The couple are among millions who first met on a dating app, with the likes of Tinder, Hinge, Bumble and more first connecting users online leading to in-person dates.
In 2023, over 17 percent of the population of the U.S. were using online dating services, an estimated almost 60 million users, according to Statista.
Of those, 52 percent were Millenials—people aged between 28 to 43—while 22 percent were Gen Z, aged up to 27.
