Rangers are aiming to bounce back from weekend disappointment and controversy in the Scottish League Cup final when they host Dundee on Saturday.
The Light Blues tasted an agonising penalty shootout defeat following an enthralling 3-3 duel with Celtic in the showpiece event at Hampden Park, but were left infuriated after the full-time whistle following VAR’s failure to spot that Liam Scales’ extra-time foul was inside the penalty area. The Scottish FA have since admitted to the error.
Philippe Clement and his players must put their cup final disappointment to one side this weekend, though. The Gers welcome mid-table Dundee to Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership as they look to close the gap to league leaders Celtic. They can leapfrog Aberdeen in second depending on the Dons’ result at home to Hibernian on Saturday.
Dundee were unable to lay a glove on Rangers during September’s meeting in the Scottish League Cup quarter-finals, but enter the weekend clash in confident mood after two 4-1 victories over Hibs and Motherwell during their last four outings.
