Award-winning brunch concept to celebrate opening of first location in “The Port City”

Mobile, AL  (RestaurantNews.com)  Opening in the heart of midtown Mobile, The Toasted Yolk Café will open its doors with a special Grand Opening event on Monday, March 4. The beloved, made-from-scratch brunch brand will celebrate its first location in the city with a variety of celebratory festivities.

Located at 2066 Old Shell Road, The Toasted Yolk is situated inside a fully renovated, 94-year-old building and features a newly built, pet-friendly turf patio. This restaurant is the second Toasted Yolk location for owner/operators Ryan LaFleur and John Lockett.

“If you want a strawberry field salad at 7am, or eggs and pancakes at 3pm, we are brunch all-day everyday,” said Lockett. “We want our guests to feel like they’re on vacation, even if it’s a quick bite-to-eat before going back to work. With our scratch-made dishes and drinks, great service, and cool atmosphere, we want to provide our guests with a true go-to brunch destination.

In celebration of the grand opening, the brand will hold a raffle for free breakfast once a week, for a full year. Additionally, to kick-start the restaurant’s partnership with the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation (PMSF), 10% of opening day sales will be donated to the organization. Phelan-McDermid Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that can affect many critical functions in a person’s body, from learning and communicating to eating and sleeping. The foundation is working to make today better and the future brighter for everyone living with this complex condition, from the moment of diagnosis to the delivery of treatments and cures.

With a southern-inspired menu featuring reimagined interpretations of traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch classics, Toasted Yolk guests can choose from a wide variety of favorites:

From the breakfast menu: Churro Donuts, Omelettes, the Cowboy Scramble (made with two buttermilk biscuits, covered with bacon, sausage, ham, onions and three scrambled eggs topped with country sausage gravy), Granola Apple French Toast, Shrimp & Grits, Biscuits and Gravy, Hashbrown Casserole and more.
From the lunch menu: The Club Sandwich (made with layers of ham, Cajun turkey, bacon, swiss and cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise between three slices of grilled sourdough bread), Junkyard Fries, salads, soups and more.
From the drinks menu: Jackie’s Morning Rita, Mimosas, Breakfast Shots, Coffee, Cold Brew and more.

The Toasted Yolk also offers regular drink specials, including Toasted Tuesday’s $5 Jackie Morning Rita’s and Breakfast Shots all day and Happy Hour every Friday with half-price mimosas. The restaurant’s hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
