What are BRICS+? Understand in three minutes

Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa… and now Egypt, Iran, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates: these nine countries were brought together by Vladimir Putin in the city of Kazan (in Tatarstan) for the sixteenth BRICS+ summit. Since the creation of this group in 2009, the goal for these countries has been to gain greater influence on the international scene, especially economically, and to reform international institutions, particularly financial ones. Except that the BRICS+ today represent almost half of the planet’s population and around 30% of global GDP. In this video, we return to the reasons for the formation of this group and its objectives. To find out more, we invite you to read the article below which focuses on the diplomatic interest that BRICS+ represents for China.
