The fans included Chance the Rapper, actor Jason Sudeikis, rapper Lil Durk, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and women’s basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes.

When asked about the celebrity crew postgame, Reese provided the following answer (6:30 mark).

“Of course it’s good for the game, good for women’s basketball, but also good for women’s sports. You see NBA players, rappers, legends that have played in the league for a great long time come out and show support, so you know everybody’s watching right now.

“I think it’s one of the most important times right now. We just continue to keep putting on, I think both teams tonight did an amazing job putting on a show, and it was fun. I had a great time. I’m sure the other team had a great time, so I’m just happy we won tonight.”

As Reese said, both teams put on a show.

The Sky were down 82-70 with just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter, but Reese, who dropped a career-high 25 points alongside 16 rebounds, led a ferocious comeback.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark set a Fever franchise record 13 assists, including six straight in a five-minute span during the third quarter. She also added 17 points.

The Sky and Fever are certainly bringing a lot of positive attention.

Of note, the Sky-Fever game from Sunday, June 16, which was nationally televised on CBS, was the league’s highest-watched game in 23 years (2.25 million).

Ratings aren’t available as of Sunday evening, but Chicago and Indiana just delivered an instant classic with fantastic performances on both sides that already has drawn a lot of buzz.

The two teams will meet again on Aug. 30. In the meantime, Chicago invites the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces into town on Thursday, while Indiana heads to Seattle for a matchup with the Storm on the same day.
