NBC Sports’ Peter King wrote on Monday that he’s “feeling good” about the Cleveland Browns facing off against the Eagles to kick off the regular season for both organizations on Sep. 6.

Philadelphia was previously announced as one of the teams competing in the São Paulo game on Feb. 6, although its opponent was not known at the time.

The contest at Corinthians Arena in Brazil will represent the first NFL regular-season game to be played in South America, with the league scheduling several other international games throughout the 2024 season. There will be numerous contests taking place in London once again as the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars are set to travel abroad.

Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers are heading to Munich for the first game in Germany since Nov. 2022. The opponents traveling to face off against each team are not currently known, although they’re expected to be revealed in the spring (per NFL.com).

It seems as though the Browns could be one of the opponents, however. Cleveland has only appeared in one international game, a loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London that took place in Oct. 2017.

The Eagles haven’t appeared in an international game since 2018, when they played in London. Team owner Jeffrey Lurie is excited by the prospect of playing in Brazil, though.

“With the global growth of our sport being a top priority to our league, we embrace the opportunity to grow our fanbase around the world and bring Eagles football to the 38 million sports fans in Brazil,” Lurie said, via Dave Spadaro of the team’s official website.

It should be a fun matchup between a high-powered offense and an imposing defense led by stars such as Jalen Hurts and Myles Garrett, respectively.
