The Dallas Cowboys had a close and very emotional loss due to a poor special teams play. The offense had its issues but the defense really showed up and kept the game competitive. How did the rookies show up in last week’s loss?
OT Tyler Guyton
The Cowboys chose to not play Guyton this week even though he was active. It’s unclear how much his recent injury had to with that decision.
DE Marshawn Kneeland
Kneeland suited up after being questionable in the week. He played 23 snaps on defense as the coaches worked him back into rotation and made two good tackles in run defense.
C Cooper Beebe
By all accounts, Beebe was having a good game, especially in the run-blocking department before he left the game at halftime due to a concussion. He was key on a number of blocks that helped Rico Dowdle have a career day and rush for over 130 yards. Keep watch on his progression this week as he tries to clear concussion protocol.
LB Marist Liufau
Liufau played 23 snaps on defense and had a career day not only making the first sack of day, but also leading the team in sacks. On his first sack he met Joe Burrow with Donovan Wilson and forced a 4th and 21 in the third quarter. On the next drive, Liufau came screeching around to find Burrow in the backfield and get a sack on third down to force the Bengals into a long 4th and 27. It was this punt where Amani Oruwariye would touch the ball and seal the Cowboys fate.
CB Caelen Carson

WR Ryan Flournoy
Flournoy was targeted once in last week’s game, but his bread and butter was on special teams. He was great as gunner using his speed and burst to get downfield quickly and shutdown return opportunities. He also made one tackle on one return.
T Nathan Thomas

TE Brevyn Spann-Ford
Ford found his offensive snap count reduced with the return of Jake Ferguson. He played 11 snaps with eight of those snaps being used as an extra blocker with good effect. Apart from that, Ford was also taking on duties on special teams.
