Epic Showdown: Top Esports vs T1 Recap – Worlds 2024 Quarterfinals Day 3

Top Esports vs T1 Recap for Worlds 2024 is here as we enter the penultimate day of the Quarterfinals stage.

The last time we saw T1 they were knocking G2 down into the last chance stage at Worlds 2024. Since then, T1 has had a chance to rest and prepare for their next game at World 2024. Top Esports have had a good run at Worlds thus far, while they lost to Gen.G, they did manage to beat Dplus Kia and today’s opponent, T1. Confidence will be high, though the Best of Five format shift is likely to throw a spanner in the works.

So far we’ve had two fairly one-sided 3–1 victories, now attention turns to Top Esports and T1 to see who can advance to the Semifinals stage and secure a game against FlyQuest or Gen.G.

Below is our live recap coverage of the game alongside the embed of the game so you can watch along if you prefer.

Top Esports vs T1 Worlds 2024 Recap
A huge series for both sides, but only one can come out on top. TES has the upper hand already, but T1 will be looking to claim yet another crown at Worlds 2024 in Europe.

TES vs T1 Recap Game 1

The first game of what promises to be an epic series. First blood secured for T1, in what was already a very hectic game, but it was T1 that looked ready for blood. Shortly after, however, it all fell apart for T1 after a failed dive in the bot side resulted in TES picking up two easy kills, one in the mid and one in the bot lane. The game calmed down, but it was clear that T1 had their heads in the game. While TES kept forcing plays, T1 just did their objectives and left, leaving TES expending resources on fights that never happened.

The back and fourth remained well into the Baron spawn window. TES just wanted to pull T1 into a fight, whereas T1 only wanted to play the map and drag TES around. The Drake play is another huge moment for T1, who moved to secure the Drake before moving away and resetting. Shortly after, however, TES used the Baron to force a play this time, and we did finally get our fight. TES pulled off the Baron, and took down Oner on the site of T1 but it was enough to stop TES from pushing. TES did it again, moved for Baron but this time it was not to be for TES. T1 managed to pull them apart, as four members of TES dropped and T1 pushed ahead. T1 broke open the TES base and knocked down an inhibitor, while Baron remained up.

T1 forced the play this time, and they managed it with glory and ease. The Baron drops, as did every single member of TES. With four members of T1 still up, they burst into the base of TES. The two remaining inhibitors fell, while the Soul Drake was secured. An amazing game for T1, who played the early game so calm, before erupting onto the Rift.

TES vs T1 Recap Game 2

A huge game two for TES, who need to work out quickly how to deal with T1. Another calm start by T1, who again doesn’t look interested in doing anything that isn’t on their terms. When the moment demanded it, T1 once again made it work. Forcing in on TES in a matter of seconds, three members are taken out as T1 walked away unhurt. With Baron soon to spawn, the third Drake was the next moment, while T1 looked to force a fight, TES did manage to claim the objective, though T1 did claim one kill as a result.

T1 just kept calm, and remained in the lead. It was becoming clear by the 30-minute mark that TES were getting frustrated. T1 pushed for the Baron, they peeled off the objective, and moved on claiming the ACE onto to TES. Moving back onto Baron, it had been a near-flawless game from T1. Try as they might, TES just couldn’t stop T1 from pushing forward, a flawless game from T1 who just looked relentless. They moved onto match point, and who knows how TES get back into this series.

Despite all that, T1 were the ones to keep up the push, claiming another Baron as they looked to knock down the TES base.

Make or break for TES, T1 have dominated the series thus far but now TES needed to wake up, and fast. First blood again is secured by T1, as they look to go for a 3-0 in the series. T1 not looking like giving up a game here, as they looked to continue the pressure onto TES. With four kills on the board, T1 found themselves in a 5k gold lead at just 15 minutes. TES finally got a kill in the game, which T1 were quickly able to turn into a kill for themselves.

TES slowly clawed their way back into the game, reducing the gold deficit to just under 4k at the 22-minute mark. With a few kills onto T1, they snowballed the play and that was that. Game 3 came to an end as T1 marched into the TES base, and we just witnessed utter dominance from T1.
