This week we’re getting a new tournament, the Fortnite Symbiote Cup! This is a chance to win two of the most anticipated upcoming skins, but how can you take part and get involved?
At the moment, Fortnite esports is kind of killing time. The FNCS and Global LAN have concluded for the year, and unless there’s an FNCS for Fortnite OG we’ve just got downtime until 2025. However, these small cups are filling the gaps.
While the FNCS is away, these Cups are the focus. We’ve got regular Cash Cups and solo events. However, Epic is also still holding special events. The latest of these is the Fortnite Symbiote Cup.
It might not have a cash prize, but players can get their hands on one of the most requested skins quite a bit early! By taking part in this new tournament. It’s going to be held over a single day, with the top players getting a prize of a couple of different cosmetic sets.
How will the Fortnite Symbiote Cup work and what do players need to know to enter?
Fortnite Symbiote Cup
The Fortnite Symbiote Cup is an in-game event taking place over a single day, later this month. These types of Cup will be familiar to long-time players.
Sometimes, to promote a new skin in the item shop, players will get the chance to unlock it for free. Not only free but early too. Meaning for a short while you’ll have one of the rarest Fortnite skins.
There might not be a free skin on offer for everyone in the event. But the best-performing players can save a few thousand V-Bucks. As with most of these Cash Cups, there’s only a single session to play in.
The rules for these cups can be quite different from regular games of Fortnite. How will it all work?
Fortnite Venom Cup Rules
How will the Fortnite Symbiote Cup work? This is a single-day tournament, you jump in during the single session for each region by queuing up into a specific playlist for the Fortnite Vemon Cup.
Each region has a three-hour window, with the chance to play 10 games. It’s. Duos tournament, so players will have to group up with others to take part. This isn’t one of the Fortnite Solo Cups, so a Duo is needed.
Players get points in each game, which raises them up an overall leaderboard. How will scoring work?
Symbiote Cup Scoring
The point system for this tournament is quite similar to other cash cups. Nothing too ridiculous or crazy happening.
Players get points for placement and kills, but placement is definitely the most important factor in the Fortnite Symbiote Cup. This is how it breaks down:

Fortnite Symbiote Cup Loot Pool
The loot pool for Fortnite tournaments is a little bit different. There are some items that are great for racking up wins in pubs but just not competitive enough. A few of the Marvel items are missing.
In addition, some of the new Fortnitemares stuff isn’t going to be in a tournament. Boom Billys Pumpkin Launchers and other Marvel items aren’t here.
This is the Fortnite Symbiote Cup, but you won’t find the old Fortnite Symbiote mythic in the loot pool. It’s just a standard tournament played in the tournament playlist.
While Siphon is still being tested for use in future tournaments, it won’t feature here. It won’t be included in tournaments until the tests are completed, which won’t be until next chapter.
Prizes – Who Gets Skins in the Fortnite Symbiote Cup?
That’s how the tournament is going to work, but what about the prizes? The main event. These tournaments are a fun chance to try for a free skin, but it’s not the same as Epic’s normal free Fortnite skin promotions.
Only a handful of players in each region are going to get the prize this time. It’s really just the winners and absolute top names in each spot. Although, it does vary from region to region. This is how the prizing breaks down, where you’ll need to come in each region to get the prizes:
OCE – 1 – 200th
Asia – 1 – 200th
ME – 1 – 200th
EU – 1- 1,200th
BR – 1 – 200th
NA – 1 – 1,1000th
Ultimately the prizes aren’t as high here as in most tournaments. You’re getting the skins early, but pretty soon the prize will only have really been worth a few V-Bucks. There are definitely decent bragging rights from winning the Fortnite Symbiote Cup though.
Plus, it’s not just a single skin this time. It’s a whole bundle for all of the Fortnite servers. These are the cosmetics all the winners get:
She-Venom Skin
Agony Skin
Symbiote Slicers Backbling
Symbiote Slicers Pickaxe
Electric Symbiotaxe Pickaxe
Llymbiote Backbling
When is the Fortnite Symbiote Cup?
If you still fancy your chances of winning in the Symbiote Cup, when can you play? The time is slightly different depending on your region, but it’s the same date for everyone. Most players should be able to take part in their home region at a sensible time.
The Fortnite Symbiote Cup is taking place on October 22nd. You can jump into the tournament playlist using the three-hour session to try your luck and see if you can secure the skins for free!
Competition might be tougher depending on your Fortnite server, but the best 200 or thousand players will come away with both sets of cosmetics.
