Fnatic’s strong 5-0 start in the Summer Season propelled them into playoffs where they won all of their series, including a best-of-five against G2 Esports, who had to fight their way out of the lower bracket.

G2 Esports vs Fnatic Summer Grand Final Recap
Game 1
Fnatic’s strategy in the draft was taking away Hans Sama’s best champs, which worked wonders in the early game. But G2’s ferocity shined when they turned the deficit around.
FNC Humanoid and his jungler shined in the early game, forcing G2 into awkward spots and getting both a three-kill lead and Soul Point.
By then, G2 had to make a play. So they stalked Baron pit and worked with Mikyx to protect their mid laner from a Jhin ult. Afterwards, they found a winning angle that forced Fnatic to retreat before claiming Baron.
If you give G2 any sort of lead, you’ve given the game over. A scrappy fight for the sixth drake of the game gave Caps’ team a bigger lead. And one team fight later, G2 had everything they needed to break Fnatic’s base open and claim the first game of the series.

Game 2
Despite less early-game damage, G2 was more unpredictable than Fnatic’s repeat comp, barring Noah’s reverse-ADC pick.
Strong dives into the botlane put Fnatic ahead in kills while Yike focused on the first dragon. An extended play from Humanoid’s team let G2 close the gap early on. But after getting two dragons of their own, Fnatic got a three-kill lead after a good mid lane skirmish.
Things were looking good, so Fnatic retreated into top jungle for Baron. But G2 followed close behind. And a three-man knockup from G2 BrokenBlade’s Orn led to a wipe which stole their opponent’s momentum, the Baron buff and Fnatic’s second Nexus.

Game 3
Fnatic put all their chips on black and repeated their full roster from Game one in hopes of replicating their strong macro. But their cohesion wasn’t enough to stop an avalanche of an assault.
Early skirmishes once again put Fnatic ahead. And despite the first 10 minutes being a constant slugfest, Humanoid’s team impressively kept G2 Esports at bay with a confident 10-4 lead.
Noah was a dominant force on the Rift this match, and Fnatic wanted to bet on his intuition. This gave them a solid lead until G2 Yike and Mikyx collapsed on Fnatic’s botlaners, giving the German org the opportunity to turn the whole match around for a flawless BO5 win.
Caps and co. were almost 10k gold behind; a death sentence in most LEC matches. But the Kings of Europe prove their prestige by snatching Summer’s silver trophy, solidifying their most dominant season to date.
