Illinois Star Football Player was Killed in a Crash with a Semi Truck

Saint Xavier University football team is mourning the loss of one of their players who was killed in a car accident over the weekend.

Mason Santiago, a 19-year-old football player and his friend Tyler Koscinski, 20 were killed in the accident.

Santiago was a linebacker prospect for the Cougars and was studying for sports communications.

According to the police report, Santiago was in a Dodge SUV when they collided with a semi. Both were pronounced dead at 8:20 am.
