Jake Paul reacts to outdoing Beyonce’s Christmas halftime show to claim coveted 2024 record: ‘We own sports’

Jake Paul’s boxing return against heavyweight great Mike Tyson led the way among sports event streaming in 2024.

Jake Paul‘s disruption of professional boxing continued in 2024 as millions tuned in around the world to watch his fights. Love him or hate him, you can’t deny Paul’s standing as one of the biggest pay-per-view draws in combat sports.

Paul vs. Tyson notched a 108 million live viewership on Netflix, setting numerous records on the platform and setting a high benchmark for streamed sporting events. Netflix-streamed events held the Top 5 spots among US sporting events in 2024.

Paul vs. Tyson beat out Grammy award-winning artist Beyonce’s Christmas halftime show at the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans NFL game (30-35 million live global viewers), along with the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers stream. Paul’s teammate, Amanda Serrano’s rematch with Katie Taylor took second place on the list.

After accumulating a larger audience than Beyonce and two marquee NFL games, it didn’t take long for Paul to weigh in on social media.

Paul and Most Valuable Promotions are looking ahead to what should be another eventful year in 2025. In recent days, he’d been linked to a potential boxing match with UFC superstar Conor McGregor, along with his brother Logan.

Paul has bounced back nicely since suffering his first professional boxing loss to Tommy Fury last year. He could potentially face a rematch with Fury for his next test, although as of this writing, it’s uncertain when Paul is targeting his return to the ring.

Tyson’s comeback fight against Paul was the 59-year-old’s first professional bout since 2005, a loss to Kevin McBride. Despite the defeat to Paul, Tyson isn’t ruling out another boxing return, potentially against Logan.

Jake Paul and MVP could partner with Netflix for future eventsBefore the win over Tyson, Paul defeated Bare Knuckle FC star Mike Perry, Ryan Bourland, Andre August, and former UFC superstar Nate Diaz in the ring. He’s accumulated an 11-1 record during his career.

Paul-led boxing events could potentially stream on Netflix going forward after the immense success of the Tyson fight. Paul and MVP promoted fights on DAZN PPV, but it’s uncertain if they’ll stick with the platform moving ahead into 2025.

For now, Paul is basking in his accomplishments in and out of the ring in 2024. The Paul vs. Tyson viewership could point to dramatic changes in sports streaming heading into the new year.
