The Philadelphia Eagles’ first-round playoff opponent is now known.
With the Green Bay Packers losing to the Chicago Bears on a last-second field goal, the Packers finished as the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff picture and will thus be heading to Lincoln Financial Field for a Wild Card game against the Eagles next weekend.
With the Washington Commanders alsoo previously in play, the Packers were viewed as the less preferable opponent. At least, if our polling here at Bleeding Green Nation was any indication:
Nevertheless, the Eagles will be tasked with beating the team they previously defeated in Brazil back in Week 1.
The Packers clearly struggled with the league’s very best teams this season, going 0-5 in games against the Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Minnesota Vikings. And Green Bay got banged up in Week 18 with Jordan Love leaving the game early and Christian Watson getting carted off.
Love reportedly hit his funny bone, though, and might be able to play in Philly. If not, Malik Willis is his backup, and the Packers are 2-0 with him starting this season.
The Eagles are viewed as slightly more than average favorites against the Packers, according to FanDuel. The Birds opened as 3.5-point home favorites against Green Bay.
