But the coastal gleam of the place has become even more special for the Serbinator as he found his old friend, Maria Sharapova there.
A few days ago, Novak Djokovic was spotted relaxing with his family in Montenegro, enjoying the waters of the Adriatic Sea, along with his wife Jelena, and children, Tara and Stefan. Now, there’s one more addition to this group, and it is none other than Maria Sharapova, another tennis titan! In a recent X post, the duo is leisurely taking a walk in the streets of Kotor. While taking the stroll, both remained engaged in a deep conversation, with Novak Djokovic laughing at the end of the clip.
Naturally, fans, excited to see the iconic pair holidaying together, couldn’t contain their thrill. While Djokovic has often taken a short trip to the place during summer, Sharapova is no stranger to Montenegro either. In 2015, her vacation pictures on King’s Beach caught the attention of fans worldwide.

Sharapova and Djokovic first met in a mixed doubles exhibition match in La Quinta, California, and little did they know that soon they would form a bond that would stay forever in their lives. A few years ago, the Russian shared a hilarious story about her first meeting with Nole in an Instagram live session. “You said that if you’d win, I would have to pay dinner. I was like, ‘Whatever, who is this kid.’ And you won…..So we did, we ended up going to dinner. You pulled out an old Kodak camera and you asked the waiter to take a photo. And here we are now I think you behaved like a fan that day (laughs).”
Although we might not often see them together now, in the past, their appearances at charity events and in a few commercials have won our hearts. However, even now, whenever Sharapova talks about Novak Djokovic, she can’t help but praise him for his exceptional talent!

In an old interview, she said, “I know him so well and it’s incredible to see how passionate he is and how he handles the element of longevity. It’s amazing how he treats his body and his preparations .. it’s fascinating.” Besides, in a different interview, the Russian player also admitted that she is a Djokovic fan while hyping him up to win more Grand Slams in his career.
Although Sharapova doesn’t feature on the WTA tour anymore, through these brief glimpses, she is still making headlines. Especially when it involves a fun time with her old friend, the scenario indeed becomes all the more exciting.
