This year’s Digiday Technology Awards winners highlighted how companies are continuing to use AI tools to enhance personalized experiences across platforms and channels.
Among the prevalent themes this year were advanced e-commerce technologies, including AR/VR experiences and blockchain, and investment in automation platforms for seamless operations. Together, these tactics are allowing companies to deliver enhanced customer experiences and drive efficiency in marketing and sales operations.
For instance, in the new Best Content Creation Platform category, winner Adobe put AI at the forefront of its new Express app, which is designed to make it easy for users of all skill levels to produce standout social media posts, videos and more. The platform is equipped with templates and tools, along with commercially safe generative AI features powered by Adobe Firefly, allowing creators to produce content with confidence. Adobe Express has already rapidly expanded its capabilities, including the integration of Adobe Firefly into the mobile app, and offering enhanced generative AI and editing features for faster on-the-go content creation.
In the Best Marketing Automation Platform category, Soundcloud claimed the winner’s spot after transitioning to MoEngage, a customer engagement platform, to overcome data management challenges and enhance user engagement. Faced with a vast repository of more than 600 million emails and previous limitations, the music streaming service aimed to differentiate between active and inactive users and derive actionable insights. The goal was to refine communication strategies and optimize engagement through a scalable and innovative platform. The integration of MoEngage with Hightouch and BigQuery streamlined SoundCloud’s operations, while enhanced data analysis and segmentation led to a 15% increase in user engagement.
Disney Advertising and Spectrum Reach both earned wins in the Best Data Team category. Disney Advertising’s data and measurement science team has long been making moves across the wider advertising industry, covering Disney’s portfolio of linear, streaming, digital and social properties. For more than a decade, the team has delivered future-forward solutions that solve critical needs for marketers — including Disney’s clean room technology and BridgeID — amid a changing data landscape where persistent identity and first-party insights continue to outperform third-party cookies.
Meanwhile, the data team at Spectrum Reach has supported the organization in creating scalable advertising and marketing services driven by aggregated and de-identified data insights. The team upgraded Spectrum Reach’s technology infrastructure to facilitate unified sales and enhance automation, while refining forecasting and campaign optimization across all platforms and inventory. These enhancements have orchestrated interoperability among key data partners and showcased the company’s expertise in navigating complex data ecosystems.
