Derrick Henry Rumors: Ravens, Former Titans RB Have Mutual Interest in Free Agency

Wesley Hitt/Getty ImagesThe Baltimore Ravens and former Tennesee Titans running back Derrick Henry have mutual interest in a potential deal in free agency, per CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson.

Henry, who spent the first eight years of his career in Tennessee, is “unlikely to return” to the Titans, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, though “the door is not completely closed.” If the Ravens have the right offer, it could close the door on a return to Tennessee.

In 2023, Henry recorded 1,167 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns—his sixth consecutive season with double-digit touchdowns. Joining the Ravens could lead Henry to have a big second act to what has already been a tremendous career.

Moves from both the Titans and the Ravens Monday seem to indicate Henry’s future could be in Baltimore.

Tennessee signed former Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard to a three-year, $24 million deal, which means the Titans are likely gearing up for a future without Henry.

The Los Angeles Chargers signed former Ravens running back Gus Edwards to a two-year contract. Edwards was Baltimore’s leading rusher behind Lamar Jackson last season, and Henry could fill the void.

Though Henry, 30, is reaching the age where giving him a big contract could be a risk, the former All-Pro running back proved last season that he still has plenty left to give. The Ravens were a game shy of reaching the Super Bowl in 2023, and adding a huge talent like Henry to complement the offense could be what they need to get over the hump this year.
